Setup does not cost your group anything, and we don't take a cut. Pick the format that fits how your supporters will give:
We don't print flyers or posters. We pay your group within one week of the drive closing, by cheque or e-Transfer. An ongoing account can stay open for months if you want to keep collecting after November. The step-by-step version is in our how to run a bottle drive guide, and the three formats are compared on the bottle drives page.
There's no limit. Most Sage Hill drives raise about $600 to $3,000 each, and in 2025 the drives run with us raised more than $100,000 for local groups. Alberta pays the deposit on every eligible drink container, and your group keeps the full amount:
| Container | Refund |

| 1 litre or less (cans, most bottles, drink boxes, pouches) | 10¢ |
| Over 1 litre (large bottles, jugs, milk jugs, bag-in-box wine) | 25¢ |

Our post on how much a bottle drive can raise shows how container counts turn into dollars. Parent councils that want one account for the whole school year can follow the school bottle drive plan.
Schools and parent councils, minor hockey and other sports teams, charities, churches, Scouts and Guides, and clubs can book. We're based in Sage Hill and serve Sage Hill, Sherwood (NW Calgary), Kincora, Nolan Hill, Symons Valley Ranch, Evanston, Glacier Ridge, Hidden Valley, Hamptons and Edgemont from 70 Sage Hill Plaza NW, in the Sage Hill Plaza shopping centre off Symons Valley Road and Sage Hill Road. Sherwood here is the NW Calgary community, not Sherwood Park.
If you are coming from Evanston or Nolan Hill, take Symons Valley Road south to Sage Hill Road and turn into the plaza. The drive from Evanston or Nolan Hill is typically 5–10 minutes. We are also a short drive from Citadel, Carrington, Livingston, Panorama Hills and Coventry Hills.
See the communities on our NW Calgary bottle depot page, and directions and hours before you send supporters over.
A bottle drive is credited when supporters drop off at the depot and say your group's name. If you are returning your own empties and want the refund yourself, you can walk in or stay in the car.
Walk in. Staff carry your containers inside, count them and print a receipt. You collect cash from the in-depot ATM.
Stay in the car (valet). Book a valet drop-off. Pull into the lot and stay in the car. Staff take your bottles, usually in under 2 minutes, so you never go inside, and your refund arrives by Interac e-Transfer within 48 hours. Neighbours have left 2,500+ Google reviews, with a 4.9-star rating. We recommend booking at least a day ahead.
Request your bottle drive and tell us your group, preferred dates and setup. We'll call within one business day. Questions? Call (403) 275-7003 or email hello@sagehillbottledepot.ca.
